A poem/psalm dedicated to my Saviour, my Provider, my Teacher, my Cornerstone

As i walked down this lonely road,
my cries weak and unheard.
but there You came,
You held my hands.
I am with you,
I'm here always.
You said.

Down across the sinner's line,
You died and You arise,
You hold my hands and say it is fine.
Thanks to You, I am alive,
Alive in Christ!

Your hands, warm as coal,
I can't believe I'm breaking this cold.
I turn to You and You smile,
"I've died for you,
So you may live."

Oh, thank you my Lord,
For saving me!
Thank you my Father,
For forgiving me!
Thank you Holy Spirit,
For guiding me!!

Now as I walk down this lonely road,
No! I'm not alone anymore!
I look at my side and what do I see?

My Lord, Saviour is with me.
Together we walk down the road of eternity.

The righteous will never be shaken

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn[c] will be lifted high in honor.
10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

I thought about this verse long and hard! It says surely the righteous will never be shaken. Really? The righteous will never be shaken?

The passage continues: their hearts are secure, they will have no fear. Am i the righteous? Do i exhibit such characteristics? No fear of bad news, trusting the LORD?

As i read this verse i am moulded by this verse, really asking myself again what does it mean to be called a Christian. We are the light of the World. LIGHT OF THE WORLD.

Everything that we do should be encouraging someone else to go in Christ's footsteps. To feel fearless in this corrupted world, but not because of our own boldness but in Christ. That we will claim the world in Jesus's Name!

If you are reading this and you are a Christian, ask yourself what does it mean to be called a Christian.

Remember the Lord

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
    make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
    tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
    seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done,
    his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
you his servants, the descendants of Abraham,
    his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
He is the Lord our God;
    his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers his covenant forever,
    the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
the covenant he made with Abraham,
    the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,
    to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
11 “To you I will give the land of Canaan
    as the portion you will inherit.”

I think this is something that we need to keep in mind, that is to give praise to the Lord and remember the Lord, do not forget His name. about the things that He do. It seems that as we grow, we get caught up with life and just forget Him. I always see older people just get on with life and be caught up with it. As i grow up i must remember God, keep the things that He had done and the promises that He made to you. The Israelites forgot that their freedom was actually won by God, the first born killed and so many miracles, yet the Israel's people all forget what God had did for them and that is they key thing of their failure.

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"

Like mentioned in Ecclesiastes, we should always remember the Lord. How many modern people who are not in any sickness or pain forget the Lord? We all think that we are going to be the master of our own destinity.

Idols?

Why do the nations say,
    “Where is their God?”
Our God is in heaven;
    he does whatever pleases him.
But their idols are silver and gold,
    made by human hands.
They have mouths, but cannot speak,
    eyes, but cannot see.
They have ears, but cannot hear,
    noses, but cannot smell.
They have hands, but cannot feel,
    feet, but cannot walk,
    nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
Those who make them will be like them,
    and so will all who trust in them.

Idols have mouths but cannot speak. Idols have ears, hands. But today idols have none of these. They do not have such things with them. They do not have any of these luxuries. But they have one thing in common. That is our captivation and our attention. Whether it is career, money or anything. That god has our captivation. We lust for more, we want more of it. Today, it does not matter if they have nose mouth or anything. They have captivated us. They have ruled over us. They have a foot hold on our lives. Every man has one, the question is what is it? The battle never ends too. We constantly fight this battle in this world. Many of our idols and gods is money. We worship money. That is mainly attributed to our meritocratic society. We want to always go to the next highest level. What good can come out of it? Are we really willing to trade our relationship with God for something like money? One that can last eternity compared to one who can only last a life-time? Every single day we have to check our hearts, is our hearts still with God?

God is great!

11 Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
    that I may fear your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
    I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
    you have delivered me from the depths,
    from the realm of the dead.

Throughout Psalms i have indeed learn a lot! The single theme in Psalms is praise! So much praise! Every single Chapter is praise! Praise is something that does not change ever. Praise is something that does not change. Whether it is now or in heaven, praise does not change. Everything will stop but praise will continue. For ever and ever. For praise is the only thing that we are meant for. In heavens as on earth, praise is the only thing that does not change. Do not rely on oneself but seek the Lord and discover the Lord's way! His way is The way!

For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!
Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,

   they will be destroyed forever.

 How great are Your works Lord! So true! The Lord's thoughts are profound, beyond any human being and what He can do is infinite! People do not know and do not understand Him as they do not know Him! However, people who do evil may last for a while, eventually they will be destroyed forever!

Favor and grace?

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.[b]
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.
Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

 Lord, I really thank You for speaking to me. Sometimes we must really be daring and bold and courageous to pray such prayers. This really encapsulates the nature of God! God You have showed favour to me and Lord i really Thank You for that. You Forgave me and really covered all my sins. Lord i pray for all of us that Lord forgive us of our sins again. Lord turn from your wrath and turn away from Your fierce anger. Lord restore us again! Lord for those who cannot hear You, Lord i pray that You speak to them again. Lord for those who are away from You, Lord revive them! Lord Revive us again! Lord for then we can rejoice in you! Lord i thank You for your unfailing love and grace but i do not want to be complacent. Lord grant us our salvation!

That is so true. Every single day all of us should come forward and ask God of any of our hidden sin and let Jesus' blood wash us clean again. The feeling of that is amazing! To be clean and to be able to stand for God. Lord i pray that we would also not take advantage of the grace that God gives us but just go forth and fix our sin, have conviction and really not do it again.

Prayer and calling

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
You who lead Joseph like a flock;
You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh,
Stir up Your strength,
And come and save us!
Restore us, O God;
Cause Your face to shine,
And we shall be saved!
O Lord God of hosts,
How long will You be angry
Against the prayer of Your people?
You have fed them with the bread of tears,
And given them tears to drink in great measure.
You have made us a strife to our neighbors,
And our enemies laugh among themselves.
Restore us, O God of hosts;
Cause Your face to shine,
And we shall be saved!

Lord the shepherd of Israel! The Psalm calls out God's true identity! God of God, King of Kings, You who dwell between the the cherubim! Cherubim is a winged angel that are God's angels! This Psalmist calls out to God to restore all people to our place beside the King! That is the key! Restore us to our place beside the King!

You have brought a vine out of Egypt;
You have cast out the nations, and planted it.
You prepared room for it,
And caused it to take deep root,
And it filled the land.
10 The hills were covered with its shadow,
And the mighty cedars with its boughs.
11 She sent out her boughs to the Sea,[c]
And her branches to the River.[d]

I really like how the psalmist highlighted the words between, and and room. These word proclaim the goodness and the nature of God, Do we claim such things about God? Do we say that he is uplifted? Or do we only say it during our time in church?

Yet to be Christians

They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. (Psalms 82:5 NKJV)

This verse spoke to me a lot! This verse spoke of the "poor and needy". This verse really speaks about non-Christians! I remember the days when I do not know The Lord, and I do not know the truth nor understand it. I remember the days which I really do not understand the truth, I cannot understand what is the big deal about the Christian God! Like what is all the fuss about man. Like what? Let's just live our life here on earth here happily and that's it. I did not believe in anything else, no ghosts, no heaven, no hell. And indeed I walked about in darkness because I lived not my God's righteous standards but mine own standards. And I really like the last sentence, all the foundations of the earth are unstable. Like what is the earth built upon? It was made by God, yes but what is it built upon? God's presence was withdrawn from earth(in general), when Adam and Eve sinned and sin was so rampant that God cannot live amongst all of us and had to send Jesus down to earth as a living sacrifice and so that He can live in our hearts through the blood of Jesus.

All the foundations of the earth is unstable, so true. I think about all the clubs, sin and I really agree with the statement.

Sin

For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;
And may not be like their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not set its heart aright,
And whose spirit was not faithful to God.

 We read in history, war killing and really show how evil the human heart is. As I had reached adulthood am i ready to carry the baton? To bring the baton forward? But is my generation going to ve as stubborn and rebellious as our fathers? A generation that did not set their hearts right before God and whose spirit was not faithful? Will God say that to us? Or will God say you faithful and good servant? That still opens to be a question but from what it seems sin is rampant. Sin against God is so rampant today, so the question is what are we doing about it? We as Christians! What are we doing about it!

PRAISE~~!

22 Also with the lute I will praise You—
And Your faithfulness, O my God!
To You I will sing with the harp,
O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You,
And my soul, which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long;
For they are confounded,
For they are brought to shame
Who seek my hurt.

Hmm a lute actually looks like this

Well it really looks like a guitar doesn't it! It is quite similar, gituar with more strings!

String instruments are generally "liked" by God and it is mentioned everywhere in the bible! Harp, Lute, etc... Oh Trumpets too! But trumpets are used less often. String instruments are usually used to praise the Lord.

How much of our time is dedicated to praising the Lord? How long? What is the length of that time?

It says in this verse:
My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long

All day long. Really all day long, how long do we actually praise His holy Name?? That is a very good question eh.

God suddenly reminded me of one thing. Regardless the reason you came to Christ, like you came because you felt "obligated", because of friends, because of someone you like asked you to come cell-group, because you wanted to learn guitar(yes you will be surprised)? I challenge all of you to let that down, what ever reason that you had to make you come cell group and really come with an open heart and seek the Lord.

If any of us continue to have that mentality, having the reason to seek the Lord, that is not right. It was meant to be a stepping stone, not the end goal. You are there for a reason, come and seek the Lord.

Find rest!

Truly my soul finds rest in God;
    my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
    he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
How long will you assault me?
    Would all of you throw me down—
    this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
Surely they intend to topple me
    from my lofty place;
    they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
    but in their hearts they curse.[b]

Finding rest!! Where do we find our rest? Do we find rest in the world? We see people really game when they are really stressed. There is nothing wrong with gaming. There is something wrong with the attitude. Who do we see for rest? Where do we go? Do we drink from the river of life or death? I admit there are times i seek towards the river of death and not drink from the river of life. But always remember find rest in God, for He is good and He can give you rest and eternal rest! His rest is like none other. His rest fills and refills and keep refilling. It never stops. It never ends. His peace overflows forever and ever and ever. Just like described in this passage, i enjoyed His rest and it is really refreshing! So, i encourage everyone who is finding rest seek from God, for you will be eternally refreshed!
