Annoiting upon Samuel

10 1-2 Then Samuel took a flask of oil, poured it on Saul’s head, and kissed him. He said, “Do you see what this means? God has anointed you prince over his people.
“This sign will confirm God’s anointing of you as prince over his inheritance: After you leave me today, as you get closer to your home country of Benjamin, you’ll meet two men near Rachel’s Tomb. They’ll say, ‘The donkeys you went to look for are found. Your father has forgotten about the donkeys and is worried about you, wringing his hands—quite beside himself!’

I find it very ironic that even though the people had rejected God as their king and succumbed to the world, wanting a king, God gave them a king. God wants us to have the free will. In the previous chapter, it is apparent in the conversation with Samuel, God told Samuel to chill though Samuel felt disappointed in people's decision to want to have a king. Despite it, God still anoint Saul as king through Samuel. It really shows how God really loves us and want to give us the free will. Even we have chosen a path that is away from His will, He will provides. Would it not be better if we follow His will? would it be better? Definitely. We would be more blessed.
